But if your current driver\u2019s license is from an EU country, then you can skip this step.<br \/>\nThe medical check-up costs 110\u20ac from a private care provider (60\u20ac in public health center, where there\u2019s a few months\u2019 waiting time).\u00a0 Meeting with the doctor takes only 10 minutes (no small talks, and yes it is still 110\u20ac).\u00a0 Very briefly check vision, and ask about health condition\/history.\u00a0 Measure blood pressure.\u00a0 Then the certificate is printed out right away.\u00a0 Two copies: one for self record, and one for the driving department (just bring both and let them take whatever).<\/p>\n<p>The second step is to make an appointment with Driving department.\u00a0 It is very easy to make an appointment online.\u00a0 But somehow still need to get a customer number once inside of their building (what is the scheduled time for?).\u00a0 During the short meeting with an officer, fill a form.\u00a0 The officer pastes two photos onto the form, takes a copy of passport, and checks personal ID, see if it\u2019s within two years after becoming permanent.\u00a0 It costs only 35\u20ac. The actual driver\u2019s license card comes to home more than two months later (three weeks for my husband).\u00a0 But they give a temporary driver\u2019s license (in my case, valid till the two year mark).\u00a0 The whole meeting takes less than 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Why should you change into an Finnish driver\u2019s license?\u00a0 For me, it\u2019s because my US one is expiring soon, and after changing, I get <strong>15 years<\/strong> of worry-free!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>X<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summary Check if you are eligible to change driver\u2019s license.
